1. La primera obra de arte pop fue creada por el artista escocés Eduardo Paolozzi en 1952. Era un collage hecho a partir de revistas llamadas I was a Rich Man's Plaything.

2. El arte pop se llamó originalmente arte de publicidad.

3. Andy Warhol diseñó la icónica portada del álbum para el debut de The Velvet Underground, The Velvet Underground & Nico.

4. El vestido Souper, una prenda desechable inspirada en la serie Campbell’s Soup Can de Warhol, fue fabricada por Campbell Soup Company en 1966-1967.

5. El uso de objetos e imágenes utilizados por el arte pop se remontan al movimiento dadaísta de principios del XX.
