PINTA vuelve a Nueva York

La quinta edición neoyorquina de PINTA, que desde el año pasado se presenta también en Londres, incluye además galerías de España, Francia, Portugal e Italia.Cuando se habla de arte latinoamericano, PINTA se ha vuelto en cinco años una referencia. Es mucho más que una feria; es un proyecto que tiene que ver con generar en un momento del año en esta ciudad una enorme visibilidad y un enorme foco de atracción sobre el arte latinoamericano", explicó Zaia.

En ese sentido, destacó que PINTA "es una plataforma interesante de convalidación" para artistas que trascienden en el ámbito nacional y regional en las ferias "muy buenas y fuertes" que existen en Brasil, Argentina, Colombia, México, Chile y Perú.


En cuanto a las tendencias del mercado, el presidente de PINTA indicó que "lo que viene es todos los 60, 70, que es mucho arte conceptual, mucha performance, mucho arte social-político".

Roy Lichtenstein Work Sets $43M

Roy Lichtenstein’s 1961 painting of a man looking through a peephole sold for $43.2 million last night in New York, one of 13 records set at an auction of contemporary art by Christie’s International.


As actor Leonardo DiCaprio looked on in blue jeans and blue baseball cap, the pop artist’s “I Can See the Whole Room!… And There’s Nobody in It!” helped London-based Christie’s reach a total of $247.6 million. 


Records were set for Louise Bourgeois, Charles Ray, Paul McCarthy and Barbara Kruger. Andreas Gursky’s $4.3 million landscape, “Rhein II,” was the most expensive photograph sold at auction.


“People would rather have art or gold instead of paper money,” collector Eli Broad said as he left the midtown salesroom after the auction. Leer +

Arte de Picasso en blanco y negro

"El museo Guggenheim de Nueva York anunció que celebrará la obra en blanco y negro de Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) con una exposición en octubre de 2012 que recorrerá la evolución de esos básicos colores en la paleta del artista español.


"El blanco y negro estuvo presente en la obra de Picasso a lo largo de su vida y su máximo exponente es 'El Guernica'", explicó hoy la comisaria de la muestra, Carmen Giménez, quien detalló que el museo reunirá cerca de cien obras para la exposición, la primera de un gran museo centrada en el blanco y negro del artista."
